Gifts and Exchanges

Tonight we discussed the different policies on accepting donations and some things you might consider before deciding whether or not to add a book to your collection.

This was a fun webquest. We had to practice searching to find the title of the book and then look up reviews and use our donation policy to decide whether or not we would keep this book.

Weeding and Evaluation

We learned about MUSTIE guide to help when weeding books:
Misleading (factually inaccurate)
Ugly
Superceded (by a new edition or better book)
Trivial (of no literary or scientific merit)
Irrelevent (no longer meets the needs of the community)
Elswhere (if you can obtain it somewhere else)

This link is to a weeding manual, there is a lot of interesting information on how to weed books in here: http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/pubs/crew/crewmethod08.pdf
